The EOA Conference 2024 in Telford was a resounding success – bringing together the vibrant community of employee-owned businesses, facilitators, and thought leaders.
Go EO’s Stand: A Hub of Connections
Our stand at the conference was buzzing throughout the event. It was manned and womanned by Laura Brunnan (left), our legal expert, Chris Maslin (middle), founder and Emma Melville (right), marketing manager.
It was fantastic to meet so many people. We got chatting to lots of interesting folk – from new faces eager to explore Employee Ownership and veterans of EO sharing their unique journeys. We loved hearing about the different ways EOTs are shaping businesses, cultures and people.
Our free staff engagement survey also sparked a lot of interest. It was great to see so many organisations keen to dive deeper into their workplace dynamics.
Chris Maslin in Action
A highlight for Go EO was seeing our Founder, Chris Maslin, take the stage during his session on ‘Managing a Profit Share and Rewards.’ Chris shared his journey of transitioning Maslins to an EOT, offering practical insights into implementing profit shares and tailoring them to suit a business’s ethos. The room was packed, and the questions that followed showed just how much interest there is in creating meaningful reward systems in EO businesses.
Other Conference Highlights
The conference kicked off with inspiring keynote speeches that set the tone for two days of connection and collaboration. A standout session was Javier’s talk, ‘Beyond Sticks and Carrots,’ which challenged us to think differently about behavioural change. Javier explored how beliefs underpin behaviours and shared insights into fostering impactful and sustainable cultural shifts.
The event closed with an unforgettable session from the team at Páramo. They shared an emotional and incredibly moving story about how they expanded their Employee Ownership model to include the Colombian women working in their factories. We learned first-hand, from two of the women who work for Páramo in Bogata, how Employee Ownership has helped transform the lives of vulnerable female employees, creating life-changing opportunities and fostering a thriving community. It was truly eye-opening to see how the Employee Ownership model can work across different cultures and communities.
Looking Ahead
As we reflect on the EOA Conference 2024, one thing is clear: the EO community is thriving, evolving, and growing exponentially. (Statistics suggest there’s now over 2,000 Employee Owned companies in the UK. Double the number just a few years ago!) For Go EO, this event has energised and invigorated us. We’re ready to make 2025 even bigger and better than 2024!
Thanks to the eoa for organising and hosting such a smooth and seamless event.
If we met you at the conference, thank you for stopping by and sharing your story. If we missed you, just get in touch, and we can explore how Go EO can support your transition to Employee Ownership.
