About Go EO

Go EO help companies become employee owned easily and affordably.

Normal EOT transfer

Transferring to an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) can be complex and expensive.

Even simple transfers can involve:

  • £20k+ legal fees to oversee sale and trust creation.
  • £5k+ accountancy fees for valuation and tax clearance.
  • £’000s soft skills support for founder & leadership team.
  • 0.5% of sale price in stamp duty (we can’t fix this one!)
  • £’000s on independent trustee, depending on involvement.

Go EO offer all inclusive packages to help small companies transfer for much less.

Unleash your team’s true potential!

Chris Maslin

Chris Maslin

Chris has spent 20 years as an accountant/tax adviser.

In 2021, he transferred a controlling stake of accountancy firm Maslins Ltd to an EOT. So he has first hand experience as a founder taking a company to employee ownership.

Chris’s businesses revolve around simplifying complex processes into affordable streamlined products.
– Minimise unnecessary options.
– Tailored template documents.
– Ensure key benefits retained.
All delivered with great customer service.

Chris will ensure the transfer complies with HMRC rules to secure the main tax perks. He’ll provide clear guidelines to help prevent you breaching them post transfer.

Go EO’s offering revolves around the EOT transition itself. We don’t offer ongoing accounting/tax support afterwards.

Where ongoing accounting support is required, Maslins can help. They’re employee owned themselves, and the team includes multiple Certified Accountants and Chartered Tax Advisers.

Laura’s a qualified solicitor, with >20 years in leading law firms dealing with international mergers & acquisitions.

She recently stepped away from corporates to help the SME market. Her technical expertise, jargon-free practical approach and modern outlook made her a perfect Go EO fit!

Our templates are approved by her as legally compliant. She’ll walk you through these legal documents. Where required, modest changes can be made to accommodate quirks.

To offer reserved legal services and advise on trust deeds Laura has partnered with SRA regulated legal services firm HooperHyde (a trading name of CLP Group Ltd, SRA Number 538375).

Go EO’s basic packages include all you need to become employee owned.

We’re able to deal with cases that are 90% straight forward but with one or two quirks. However, we focus on keeping things simple.

Go EO’s criteria show at the top of our pricing page. If your company doesn’t meet them but you like what you see, contact Laura directly. She’ll discuss your situation, and may be able to assist, via Go EO or independently.

Neil Williams

Neil’s background was also in the corporate world. He’s been a self employed coach since 2006.

This has included business coaching, career coaching and retirement coaching. The latter two in particular make him well suited to Go EO. He assists key personnel making the transition.

Neil can help the leadership team step up and/or the founder step down. These will be done sensitively, but with clear practical goals.

Neil can provide coaching as an optional bolt-on to our main offerings. This can be one to one, or small groups.

Independent of Neil’s support, we recommend you consider Employee Ownership Assocation (EOA) membership.

They have lots of guidance and connections to help you. They also offer regular webinars on healthy employee ownership practices.
