Revisit how you work

Even if you think your team currently works together beautifully, remember becoming employee owned will change things! Roles which in the past may have been built around individuals’ skills and preferences now need to serve the needs of the whole organisation. You’ll need to take care to ensure the overall impact is positive, not negative.

On occasion the change in power can cause problems. Respected leader steps down. Power grabs from those stepping up. Or nobody takes leadership! Squabbling ensues at the top, and the whole business suffers.

Best to take the time now to revisit how you work, and how this will look in the future.
